I have to admit this (apparently out-of-print, copyright 1958) book's section on Sweden is what I guided my characterization of Sweden by. This book, complete with its crazy punctuation and not-words, covers the lifestyles, cultures, &c. of all the Scandinavian nations. And it really.... really, really waxes poetic. It purple-proses them to Hell, almost. I'll post the introductions to each of the nations in the next post which will be coming up shortly. (Because they're pretty entertaining and pretty idyllic and not professional at all.)

For now, have Sweden, because this introduction is dearest to my heart, and actually (for all its crazy artiste style) beautiful in parts.

Funny thing is, that turning one's face toward the sun... my friend from Sweden one mentioned how embarrassed she was that she found herself doing that one day. 'Too Swedish of me,' she said. :)

Behold my one-man society for the advancement of Iceland. I would put this in my regular/non-RP journal, but my obsessive-compulsive nature tells me it would be awesome to keep Scandinavian junk in one place. I wonder if Maruya stuck him in all of the sudden because of the dire credit crisis Iceland is in! Either way, I am seriously wanting something more substantial of Norway and Denmark now! I'm not saying that because Norway is my favorite character (or am I?), but because... they are shadows just lurking throughout and ngggkkk I burnnnn.
